I CONVERTED A FORD TRANSIT CONNECT TO TAKE HIKING
Hello I’m Leigh, I’m an avid hiker and outdoor enthusiast who grew up in KENT, the garden of England, and now live and work in South East London. I use an avatar because I don’t like but photo on line but i am real and this is a site with information I have gathered in the last few years. I spent the best part of last year hiking, touring and working in my self-converted Ford Transit Connect van. I managed four National Trails, and many other long distant walking routes, while earning money as a freelance copy-editor.
Before my year of hiking I spent 4 months converting a Ford Transit Connect High Top van. Some people call it a High Top, some people call it Long Wheel Base. Some people call it Mk2. If you are in USA it may be described differently to how it is in UK/Europe, but there is no mistaking the van once you see it!
This website is partly about the build of my campervan and everything I learnt and then partly about my love of where I come from in the UK. I hope to share my journey and learnings to inspire others to do the same and visit the area of England that I believe is the most beautiful place in the world. If I can get a few Ps out of advertising then it’s win win.
I believe the FORD TRANSIT CONNECT high top is the best van to convert into a micro-camper because it has SO MANY ADVANTAGES over other micro or car campers. Most notably, you can design the layout to provide the utmost comfort, enabling you to live, work, and sleep better than in any other micro vehicle.
